
Turning water consumption into data that cuts waste and cost
Sprudel builds on-site water systems that eliminate single-use plastic bottles for offices, hospitality venues and public spaces. Water waste, though, is expensive, both for Sprudel and for the clients they serve, and it quietly works against the sustainability their systems are meant to deliver.

The problem was visibility. Without a reliable way to measure consumption in the field, waste stayed invisible: no one could see where water was going, catch anomalies early, or prove the savings a system was delivering. Sprudel came to us for a way to monitor and track water consumption at every installation, and turn it into data they could act on.
We collaborated to design a device that measures and monitors water consumption and backhauls that data over a cellular link, to be processed on Sprudel's cloud platform. Because it connects over cellular rather than a site's own network, it drops into any location without IT involvement, wiring, or a dependency on the client's infrastructure.
The device is battery powered and engineered to run for years on a single charge. Once installed, it simply works, with no cabling and no scheduled maintenance. That makes it practical to roll out across a large, distributed fleet of sites rather than a handful of connected showpieces.
We piloted the solution across multiple client sites and validated it in real-world conditions. For the first time, Sprudel and their clients could see and interrogate a clear, continuous picture of consumption. It showed exactly where water, and money, was being wasted, and gave both the evidence they needed to cut costs and reduce waste.
